Sometimes a yard just needs a full reset. Not a patch here and there - a real, start-from-scratch approach that covers everything from the soil up. That's exactly what we did here. Prep work, transplanting, new plantings, riverstone, mulch, weed control, and fertilizer. The whole nine yards.

Here's what we were working with: beds that had potential but needed serious attention before any new plants went in. We don't just drop plants in the ground and call it a day. Proper prep is what separates a bed that looks great for two weeks from one that actually holds up and keeps getting better over time.

We mixed dark mulch with riverstone to break things up visually and give each planting zone its own defined look. The combination of textures - deep black mulch framing the foundation plantings alongside the lighter stone accent beds - gives the whole front yard a clean, layered feel. New shrubs, ornamental grasses, and perennials were placed with room to grow, not crammed in. That matters more than most people realize.

We also applied weed control and fertilizer before wrapping up. That's a step a lot of landscapers skip because it adds time. But skipping it means you're back fighting weeds in a matter of weeks. Getting it done right from the start is what gives these beds a healthier foundation going forward - and keeps the whole yard looking sharp without constant maintenance headaches.

The little details really do make a big difference. Clean bed edges, the right plant selections, proper spacing, and the finishing touches all add up. What you end up with is a front yard that looks intentional - like someone actually planned it out - because we did.
