Brick Paver Patio Taking Shape in the Backyard

A plain backyard doesn't give you much to work with. No flow, no defined space, nothing that makes you actually want to spend time out there. That's the problem we set out to solve here - and what you end up with is a backyard that finally works for you.

Here's where we are on this one. The brick pavers are laid out in a classic herringbone pattern across a large footprint, and you can already see how much character the layout brings. The warm red tones in the brick give the space a timeless, traditional feel that'll hold up just as well aesthetically as it does structurally. This isn't a pattern you just eyeball - every course has to line up or the whole thing reads as off. We're precise about it.

The base work underneath is just as important as what you see on top. Proper gravel compaction, consistent depth, clean grading - that's what separates a patio that stays put from one that shifts and settles after a few winters. We don't cut corners on what's underneath because you'll feel it eventually if we did.

We're still in the detail stage on this one - trimming edges, locking everything in, getting the border courses set right. That's the phase where the patience really matters. Rushing it means the finished product shows it. Taking the time means the finished product looks exactly the way it should.

A well-built patio adds real, usable square footage to your home. It creates flow between your indoor and outdoor spaces and gives you a spot that's ready to use for years without a lot of maintenance headaches. This is the kind of upgrade that pays off every time you step outside.
