Most drainage problems don't start at the surface. They start below it - where water has nowhere to go and ends up sitting against your foundation, slowly causing damage that's expensive to fix later. That's exactly what we're dealing with here.

We're working tight along a stone foundation, prepping the ground for a full drainage system - retaining wall, sump pump, and an Econo drain. Each piece of that system has a job to do. The retaining wall holds soil in place. The sump pump moves water out. The Econo drain gives it a path to travel. Together, they keep the property drier and stronger over the long haul.

Getting this right takes more than digging a hole. The grading has to be precise so water actually flows where you want it. That's where our Bobcat mini excavator earns its keep - working close to the structure without disturbing what doesn't need to be touched. It's slow, careful work.

Here's the thing about drainage - when it's done right, you don't think about it again. No wet basement after a heavy rain. No eroding soil pulling away from your foundation. No guessing whether that water is going somewhere it shouldn't. That peace of mind is the whole point.

If you've got standing water, soggy spots that never seem to dry out, or a foundation that's always dealing with moisture, it's worth getting someone out to look at the grade and figure out where the water is actually going.
