Most backyards have more potential than people realize. A flat, underused stretch of grass isn't doing anyone any favors. What most homeowners want is a space that actually works - somewhere to sit, gather, and enjoy the yard without it feeling like an afterthought.
Here's what we were working with on this one. The goal was to build out a proper paver patio with steps, add curved mulch beds around young trees, and get the surrounding lawn area seeded and ready to grow. Three separate scopes of work, all tied together to make the backyard function as one cohesive space.
The patio itself is built with a rich red-toned paver pattern and finished with a low retaining wall along the front edge. The steps lead cleanly down into the yard, making the whole space feel connected rather than isolated. That detail matters more than people think - steps that are properly set in matching brick tie the hardscape together and add a finished, intentional look.
Around the patio, we laid dark mulch beds that curve along the tree line and garden border. Fresh straw covers the newly seeded lawn areas, which is exactly how you protect seed from washing out or drying too fast. Give it a few weeks and that bare ground fills in.
This is what a full backyard renovation looks like when patio installation, lawn renovation, and mulch laying are handled together. No piecemeal work, no mismatched finishes. Just one complete job done right.
